Keeping It Simple for Small Businesses
Building Your Website
If you have a business, you need a website! Your website can be your ‘brochure” and a resource to tell your clients about you and what you offer. The most critical factors in a website are content and organization of information. Of course, it does need to be attractive and convey the feel of your type of business. But, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on the design when you’re just starting out.
Websites need to be updated with new content and to change information that may become dated (like events). Having, new “fresh” content also improves the position of your site in a search. It is crucial to have an easy method of updating your site. You do not want to depend on a designer to make every small change (both a cost and time concern).
Here are some examples of websites that I have created using a simple design/hosting service. These are all based on “templates” but they have been customized for each business. They can be easily updated and new features can be added.
Dr. Dina Perez-Neira, Psychologist
Dr. Ruth Wetherford, Psychologist
Isis Essentials (with Web Store)
Kera Kares (Child Care, Pet Care, House Sitting)
Seasonal Holiday Decor (Shirlee Walker Interiors)
Superior Tree Care
If you’re starting a new business, let me build your first website. If you have an existing website that needs changes (and it will involve significant time and expense), it may be better to start with a new design that will be easier (and less expensive) to update in the future.
